"Our 2007 season was yet again another record breaking season! We did not break our record of a 71.5 lb Chinook but we did break our previous record of most Chinook caught and/or released. The numbers of both Chinook and Coho that passed our fishing waters were staggering, with all our guests limiting out on both Chinook and Coho, and releasing 3 times their limits - unbelievable but true!. Some days you could see our guests drifting in their boats with no rods in the water to get a break from catching fish long enough to eat their lunches. There were a number of trophy springs caught in the 50lb class as well, and a record number of trophy Coho (Silvers) were caught, the largest being 23 lb Coho.

Bottom fishing was bountiful as usual with Halibut caught ranging from 15 - 165 lbs. Lots of Lingcod and Snapper were reeled in  overall.

As we move towards our 24st Anniversary season in 2008, we're extremely excited about what's in store for us this coming year!

Once again the Department of Fisheries and Oceans is predicting another successful year of fishing due to the continued closure of commercial fisheries up and down the coast. This will prove to be a huge plus for sports fishermen for years to come.

Hakai Pass (24 years of operation in The Pass)

Located approximately 300 miles north of Vancouver, in the central coat of British Columbia, is world famous Hakai Pass. Truly a fisherman's paradise! Whether you're after trophy Chinook (up to 72 lbs), Coho  (exceeding 20 lbs) or maybe a barn door, Hakai Pass has it all!

We fish from "Joe's Point", two minutes from the lodge to Spider Islands and the "Coop", our Halibut grounds. Fish literally swim right by our front door.  Experience is a big asset and our fishing knowledge of Hakai is unchallenged. As our guest, you will enjoy the best fishing equipment and customer service available on and off the water.

The fishing combined with the sheer natural beauty of Hakai Pass make for some absolutely unbelievable days on the water. Our lodge capacity is 24 guests with 3 fishmasters to supervise the fleet on the water.

Please note the trips do not include: fishing licenses and tags, gratuities, parking for your car at the airport or any guided fishing trips. We do not take responsibility for extra expenses incurred due to flight delays caused by bad weather or missed connecting flights. 
Please note: A $1,000 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve the trip, with the balance due 90 days prior to trip date.

From the time of your arrival at Joe's Salmon Lodge until your departure, our fishing program provides unlimited fishing hours. You can fish from dawn to dusk.

Joe's Fishmaster will brief everyone on fishing methods and safety, then give tips on how to catch the "Big One."
